Terms of use

These terms apply to your use of the Golden Hour Energy website and the solar check (together, the “site”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What we are, and aren't

Golden Hour Energy is a referral service. We are not a solar contractor, installer, lender, utility or government agency, and we're not affiliated with SCE, SDG&E, LADWP or the CPUC. We don't sell, design, install or finance solar or battery systems, and we don't give quotes, bids or proposals.

Estimates

Any number the site shows you, including system size, cost, savings or payback, is a general estimate based on the answers you give and published information. It is not a quote, a promise of savings or an approval for financing. Real pricing, savings and eligibility come only from a licensed contractor after a site review, and depend on things we can't see, like your roof condition, electrical panel, usage history and utility rules at the time you apply.

Referrals

If you finish the check and agree to be contacted, we pass your information to our licensed dealer partner, the one solar dealer we work with, which refers you to one licensed installer. Any agreement you make for a system is between you and that installer or its finance partner. We aren't a party to it and aren't responsible for the installer's work, pricing, products or conduct. You're never obligated to buy anything. We may be paid for referrals.

Before you sign with anyone, we encourage you to read the CPUC's Solar Consumer Protection Guide, get more than one bid and check the contractor's license. See claims to walk away from.

Your information and consent to contact

You agree that what you enter is accurate and that you're at least 18. If you agree to be contacted, you consent to calls, texts and emails as described at the point of consent and in our privacy policy. Consent isn't required to buy anything, and you can withdraw it at any time. Don't submit information about another person without their permission.

Using the site

• Use it only for lawful, personal purposes related to your own home.
• Don't submit false information, scrape the site or try to disrupt it.
• Don't copy or republish our content without permission, beyond short quotes with a link back.

Information on the site

Our guides are general information, checked against the sources we cite as of the date shown on each page. Rates, rules and incentives change. Nothing on the site is legal, tax or financial advice. Check important decisions with a qualified professional.

No warranties

The site is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that estimates will match real results or that the site will always be available or error free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Golden Hour Energy isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or from any dealings with a dealer or installer. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under California law that can't be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
